As if we did not have enough going on here...........the kids got some new pets. They all saved their own money and are completely responsible for the pet's well being......we'll see.....
Molly got a fish that lives in its own ecosystem. My bet is 3 months.
Matthew on the other hand has been asking for a pet gerbil since he was 5. Since he had the money to buy cage, food, etc...we let him take on the responsibility. He and Jack had done much research before deciding to own a pet and he soon realized that gerbils can get lonely. Hence, he bought two. He was sooo happy!
Jack had also done his research and settled on a hamster that needed to be adopted in the back of the store. She was a female in the delivery truck and the store could only sell males legally, so leave it to Jack to find a bargain....she was free. Of course, you should see all the "stuff" he bought for her instead. Finally something that was just his!

This is one of Matthew's gerbils...Whitey. The other one is black and he named him Shadow.
Shawn did not have a pet in his room, but he and Chris noticed a chipmunk that kept sneaking into our garage to nibble on some sunflower seeds. Shawn named him Charlie and seems to be happy with that for the moment.
