Christmas 2010

Christmas is such a special time of year to be with family and celebrate the gift of giving to others. Our Christmas Eve tradition lived on as we celebrated with all the Cape Cod cousins.

The next morning Santa came....

Molly was thrilled to recieve the Jessie doll she had always wanted.

The whole family gave Matthew a huge nutcracker.
We also gave Jack the contemporary to help complete his monorail set.

Molly gave Shawn the pillow pet he has always wanted.

Grammie gave Shawn a brady shirt. He was so excited and wore it all day.
Dada gave Molly and I matching Snuggies!!
But the biggest present given this year, could not fit under our tree. The kids were thrilled to find a ping pong table set up downstairs.

Matthew and Jack battled eachother all day, and even showed Molly and Shawn how to play.
Shawn was psyched when he actually hit the ball!
That night Molly slept with all her girls.

And the next day Shawn took a nap and fell asleep reading his new tag reader books.

What a great memory.

Molly's Christmas Show

Molly sang great in her preschool show this afternoon. She wasn't shy and had a fun time singing with all the kids. However, Michelle stole the show dancing to all the songs.....so funny.

Sticks????

Oh boy, Shawn and Molly just found out they can bring sticks onto the ice for the last 5 minutes of their skating lesson. Shawn immediately went out on the ice and started banging his stick like "the brothers" do when they are looking for a pass.

Molly looked right at home with a stick. Who knows, maybe she'll play too.

Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!

Yes, we have our first snowfall on Cape Cod. The kids were sooooo excited to get out and play in it. It was barely light out (7 am) and they were already outside making a snowman! Jack was very determined and worked hard to make big snowballs.
He was built in a matter of mintues. They named him Frosty, of course.

Then Matthew decided it was time for a snowball fight. Molly thought that was great, until she got hit in the face.....oops.
Shawn was happy and thrilled just to eat the snow.
Molly thought that was fun too.

Funny Comment

Shawnie laughed and told me his "tummy was singing" in the car this morning. Clearly, the Christmas music was too loud, but I though it was a cute way to describe how he was feeling.

Jack and Matthew's Christmas Concert

After many attempts today to upload some video from last night's concert, I am out of luck. :( The boys did great for their first performance in front of so many people. The theater was packed and they said the lights on the stage were blinding. However, they sang their hearts out and really got everyone in the Christmas spirit.

I'll keep trying to upload the video, but we did get one picture of the boys on stage with the rest of the 196 fourth graders.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Our little Thanksgiving started the day before with A LOT of baking. Everyone pitched in. Jack and I made our first apple pie. It was delicious! Molly helped to make our first pumpkin pie. (Not sure why this picture will not upload correctly)
She was very careful to follow the directions for oven times and temps.
Shawnie and Matthew helped to make the sugar cookies.......yum!

Early the next morning Shawnie helped me read directions on how to cook a turkey. Next time someone should give me directions on how to "pick out" a turkey. Apparently 22lbs is WAY TOO BIG for the six of us! He kept looking at the pictures and telling me what I should do.

Jack was in and out of the kitchen helping me with the side dishes.
Success!

Time to set our fancy table.......in the living room!

Around the table..........
Shawn's first taste of cranberry sauce.....

...we all wait to see....
....he likes it!

Even though it looks like Molly is about to spit her meat into her napkin (a daily occurance around here), she actually is eating a piece of bread and surprisingly ate most of her turkey.

How thankful we are for each other! :)
