Our vacation at home...

Our "stay-cation" started with the whole family slowing down.  Chris inspired us all to take more time to read as he is flying through his Harlan Coben books.  Jack and Matthew are reading his junior series and seemed to dive into their summer reading. Shawn is taking off with his reading skills and is now at a second grade level.  Look out Kindergarten!  Molly is like her Mama...........enough said.

The kids love having Chris down at the lake, a rare sight. They made him throw them over and over.  Good thing he is in the middle of Insanity!

Poor Jack and Matthew wanted to be thrown, but are just way too big.  They had fun throwing each other.

....and Molly.

Shawn is learning to swim on his own more and more each day!

Jack won tickets to the Melody Tent for the bingo coverall prize.  He was thrilled to go to a show there since he had never been.

Then our day for Water Wizz finally arrived.  It was freezing!  Out of all the hot and humid days, it seems the day we chose that once looked great, quickly turned to 68degrees, 14 mile an hour winds, and chance of rain/lightening.  There was no swaying their determination to go......"we won't be cold!"......"We don't care if it rains, we're wet anyway!"......."We want to risk it and go today, we've been waiting all summer"...........After mentioning we could go at the end of August, the kids would just not have it......so off we went.   It WAS great that we were the only fools there...............however..
......they WERE cold!

We made the best of it...............Jack and Matthew had a blast and truly weren't cold at all. They met up with a group of friends there and had the best day ever.

Good thing we brought warm clothes!

Chris was a good sport......I went in once and was done!  I was frozen, but Chris kept drying off and venturing back on the slides with Shawn since he needed an adult....brrrr.

Matthew and Jack just kept saying it was the best day with no lines and all the slides to themselves.

Molly had fun too!  She must have gone down 50 times on the same slide.

It also helped that Dunkin Donuts was across the street for a quick warm up.
