San Diego

This trip piggy backed on an educational conference. It was the perfect excuse to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary.  We started with a nice dinner in Little Italy at Nonna’s.  It has been raining here for days and was expected to continue through our stay, of course.  The locals said they have not seen rain since May!  Doink!

 

Then we visited the Coronado.  The rain stopped briefly this morning so we could enjoy a nice walk along the beach. 

  

During our breakfast,  our beachfront view was obstructed due to a holiday skating rink and there were jack hammers all around us as they were doing construction!   Doink!

The Pacific Terrace Hotel was fabulous!  The views from our room were incredible!.

Unfortunately the rain was relentless.  We were unable to sit out by the pool and soak up the sun as hoped....doink again.  We made the best of it, hopped  in the car and explored the coast a bit.  When we arrived at our first destination, it was closed and we were unable to see the view..haha, doink!         Luckily we found plenty other spots.

The CA coast reminded us of Maine.

We met some friends just hanging out on the rocks.

The last day we went on more rainy walks but ended with some spa treatments and a nice dinner.  With all the doinks of this trip we still appreciated the fact the fact that we were able to spend time together and how lucky we are to have each other.
